Is my Dongle for cyton mechanically broken ?

I do a lot of experiments all afternoon long and it was ok for communications with my Cyton board( Mark IV 8 channels).
As i find the dongle brittle, i try to find a tiny box to surround it and try several. I don't found a correct one.
Trying to restart my openBCI_GUI, i was unable to establish a session: unable to connect to cyton, check hardware and power source. Found a dongle but could not connect to the board. And so on.
I tried every advice and how-to found in docs and forum. No result.
Looking at dongle programming in _cyton radio programming tutorial _ i read there should be a switch with a Reset position as shown on illustration:

This doesn't exist exactly the same on my dongle , see below :

I suppose it should be one i broke the handle and probably have changed switch position when trying too small boxes ( I gained the opposite of the desired effect, but what a bad design if the handle exceeds the width of the board as it seems !)
My questions needing help :
1) Can you confirm there must be a switch with a handle ?
2) Where should be the switch handle for communication (not Reset) : Close to the USB part (on the left in photo) or outward facing ? (i will try to move switch with some sharp object if no better idea )
3) Are dongle interchangeable or are they paired with the cyton board ? In other word, can i buy a new one without having trouble to install it ?

Thanks for help

    Hi Pirla,

Sorry to hear about your mishap. Look on the back of the dongle near the switch. There are two positions, RESET and GPIO6. For normal operation with the GUI, the switch must be in the GPIO position.

It's possible that your case breakage, just broke off the external 'handle' of the switch, and the internals are still functional. Try taking a safety pin or other sharp pointed object, and see if you can insert that near where the handle used to be. Push the handle towards GPIO position.

If you do have to buy a new dongle, the GUI 'AUTOSYNC' feature enables you to align the radio channel of the mainboard with the dongle.

    Regards, William
