High shipping costs for small items (cup electrodes)
Hi there,
I just wanted to buy some gold cup electrodes, which should be just a really small and simple package. However, it turned out that the shipping costs are higher than the price of the actual product (40$ for a small package to Europe). Is there any chance to reduce the high shipping costs? If not, do you know other shops that ship electrodes to Europe for a low price?
Best, Georg

Georg, hi.
You can use any common EEG electrodes, widely available, even from European vendors. Note that the OpenBCI electrodes use a Dupont / Berg / female header connector plug. Regular EEG electrodes use a 'Touchproof' connector. There is an adapter in the Shop. OR -- you can just use any existing Dupont cables, and cut off the touchproof / splice on the Dupont.

More specifically regarding shipping costs, I don't know if there are any alternative shippers that might offer lower pricing. Mentioning @Shirley .

Thank you @wjcroft for the tag. @georglange , hello and thank you for the feedback.
The shipping cost for FedEx (and any other ship method) is passed directly to the customer without surcharge. Unfortunately, we don't have control over the rates we are quoted. The reason we offer only FedEx or USPS Express is that they are more reliable for international tracked delivery. For your one-off order of a small item, I can process an order using low-cost USPS mail, which doesn't offer tracking, and last I checked, can take up to 3 weeks to reach European addresses, due to covid and other factors. Happy to use another ship method of your choice and to discuss further over email. Please follow-up directly with [email protected]. Looking forward to hearing from you Georg!
