Pulse Sensor Plateau
Hello,
I bought the pulse sensor and now have it set up with my Cyton. However, the sensor appears to "max out"
It's not a huge issue as I can just modify my heart rate algorithm to account for it.
However I'm curious as to whether this is normal, or if perhaps I received a defective pulse sensor?

I suggest you email to contact at openbci.com, and ask if your Pulse Sensor is defective. It does look unusual. Does the behavior change at all with the room lighting? How is the Pulse Sensor connected? Are you able to use the GUI Widget (that uses one of the PIC32 analog pins?)

This looks as if the limit setting on the Y axis on the graphing software is set too low as the problem, as more likely than the hardware has a problem.

I have since noticed no difference in various lighting conditions. The pulse sensor is connected to the Cyton exactly as shown in the docs, with the Red wire in the DVDD pin, the black wire in the Ground pin, and the purple wire in the D11 pin. I am indeed able to use the GUI widget, which also shows these plateaus in the data.
I will email openbci as you suggest.

Actually I'm noticing now that the sensor hits limits both at the top AND bottom of the range. Hardware must have some wonky component, either the LED or opto-sensor.
