Din 1.5 male connectors or Duponts 2.54 female connectors for OpenBCI EEG headband?
I m interested in this headband:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33001055103.html?spm=a2g0o.cart.0.0.bf2a3c00fJk7gZ&mp=1
It says it is for OpenBCI. One can choose between two types of connectors. I would like to use this Headband for 8 channel EEG. Which connectors should I choose? Din 1.5 male connectors or Duponts 2.54 female connectors?

Peter, hi.
The OpenBCI headsets all use female Dupont/Berg connectors that mate with standard header pins.

Similar related kits are also on the FRI site,

You can always convert between touchproof / din, and Dupont, via adapter cables such as,

If you have existing touchproof electrodes, and don't care about using them with touchproof equipment, another option is to just cut off the touchproof, and splice on a female dupont.

The two numbers you list in mm (1.5 and 2.54) are actually measuring different dimensions. In the case of the touchproof center pin, 1.5mm is the diameter of this pin. In the case of the Dupont connector, 2.54mm (.1 inch) is the separation between header pins that these females plug into.
Thank you very much for your detailed anwser, William.
The FRI site has interesting headbands, I suppose they are the best to position the headband as accurately as possible. They are inspiring, but I thing it should be possible to build a custom made headband yourself.
FRI headbands are based on Velcro One-Wrap, 3/4 inch width, with holes punched.

I actually tipped them off to this with my saline system, some years ago.

Very helpful and detailed instruction, thank you very much.
