@wjcroft What adverse impact do the recently reported bugs in Windows 10 updates have on writing and developing one's own EEG software based on stored EEG data obtained from the Cyton and GUI? Are there not any better or bug-free operating systems that can be used on PC's, for example iOS, Linux or Ubuntu?

Issues with Windows 10 "Patch Tuesday" glitches can be worked around. Via delaying the patches using the control panel. So Microsoft then has several weeks each month to address any issues. This is widely explained on a number of sites. See Ed Bott's posts. Using this strategy there is no downside to Windows 10 update instability.

A plus for Windows is that it is a preferred platform for many neurofeedback packages such as BioEra, BrainBay, Bioexplorer. As well as BCI apps such as OpenViBE, etc.

Linux (Ubuntu) is also popular and well supported with patches. Since much BCI and ML development is utilizing Python in recent years, operating system is not as important as previously.
