Compatibility of DAVID Session Editor and OpenBCI software

Does have the ability to be 'programmed' via the session editor to drive specific flash rate frequencies. (In a non-real-time manner.) So in that sense it is clearly 'compatible' with selecting desired brainwave frequency bands. But as you know AVS is 'output only'. There is no ability to directly connect EEG to the devices or to the session editor.
There have been other devices that combined AVS with sensing live real-time EEG. Chuck Davis' ROSHI was such a device. But Chuck passed a few years ago and the original ROSHI had only a short production run. After that initial run he then manufactured his 'pROSHI' line of devices. Which were output only. Some contacts I know are planning to resurrect the original ROSHI concept. But I've not heard an update on their progress.

If you are into writing your own software, using BrainFlow to receive the EEG from OpenBCI -- then the Raspberry Pi platform has a nice DMA GPIO output capability that can be used to drive precisely timed LED flash rates. This can be accessed via the 'pigpio' library. ('Pi' + 'GPIO'). I've used this ability to create a LED headset, similar to the commercially available Vielight equipment.

@wjcroft Hi William. I once had several exchanges with Chuck Davis before he passed on but I had not reached the present stage of development of my ideas. I thought (erroneously, according to you) that the DAVID Session Editor may be suited to enabling stored EEG to output to the DAVID AVE line of products.
You are aware, I am sure, that the DAVID Alert Pro AVE (Audio Visual Entrainment) can be used with a CES (Cranio-Electro Stimulation) option. Did your answer above address the issue of whether the DAVID Session Editor could adapt stored OpenBCI EEG data to output through this CES option? If your answer above does address the DAVID ALERT PRO CES issue, I understand that the transition from stored OpenBCI EEG to AVE/CES output requires an intermediary device yet to be re-invented along the lines of Chuck Davis' original ROSHI device Regards.

@wjcroft Perhaps, it may be possible to use my software, when fully developed, to drive the Vielight eyeset/equipment as opposed to DAVID's Omniscreen eyeset. What do you think?
I don't have the Session Editor here, but I do have a DAVID Delight Plus (no CES). As you know, CES is also output only, no input capability. The point I was making with the Session Editor, is that it is completely NOT real-time. The human operator creates a session graph (generally by hand, drawing on the screen). That process probably takes 10's of minutes. Then when complete, the DAVID device audio port is then connected to the PC audio output port, where the AM (or FM?) encoded session protocol is uploaded to the DAVID. The DAVID devices do not even have usb ports, just audio.
It's possible that the Session Editor has a 'CSV' type export / import capability, to load a session description. I don't know. If that were true, then it might be possible to write a program that would analyze the OpenBCI EEG recording, and generate an import file for the Session Editor. All this is pure conjecture. In any event, it would be a slow and tedious process, not real-time at all like Chuck's original ROSHI.
Do you have the Session Editor on your PC? Check the File menu for anything like export import operations.

And if the protocols were open source, you could drive this from a Window PC program. But you'd have to enquire with MindAlive. This devices DOES NOT use the Session Editor at all, that Editor is only for the standalone DAVID devices.
@wjcroft You are perhaps aware that the DAVID Omniscreen eyeset is touted to be the best currently available in the commercial market? Is the one you have created as good?
My LED headset is based on velcro straps that point the LEDs towards the scalp. Similar to the Vielight idea. I am not doing visual entrainment. The major difference between other AVS glasses, and Dave's, is that he can illuminate alternate left and right visual fields. Not hard to do when you have 4 leds per eye.
