very high amplitude and no signal from daisy

Hi
I'v got the cyton board with daisy module 3 years ago and it all worked fine. Now I have the following problem after not using it for couple of months:
In the OpenBCI GUI (4.2.0) I get extremely high voltages when running without daisy module (~ 50'000 uV). And channel 1 seems to have a unusual repeating pattern.
With the daisy module I get no signal at all.

What I'v tried so far:

  • uploaded the latest firmware
  • reinstalled FTDI driver (though the FTDI fix from your docs is not working for macOS 10.15)
  • disabled individual channels in the GUI (no difference)

Any ideas how to confine the problem?
thank you!

    1. Please provide screenshots for this type of issue. This will help resolve the matter quicker.
    2. Also, please provide a console log file, after you attempt to connect to the board. You can find the console log in the top right of the GUI.
    3. What Cyton firmware version are you using?
  • I was able to get a signal with the 16 channels setting, but it was very choppy. Maybe this is because of the FTDI driver?
    The firmware is 3.1.2
    thanks!

Are your electrodes connected to the scalp? What paste are you using, what type of electrodes?

"...3 years ago and it all worked fine..." What setup were you using at that time? What battery, laptop, operating system, etc.
