The product guide contradicts the purchase page wrt Ganglion's Bluetooth dongle:

While the dongle purchase page says you do need it if using a Mac:

Josh, hi. The BLED112 dongle is recommended, because some older Macs do not have good built-in hardware Bluetooth support.
Another advantage of the BLED112, is that it has internal buffering that can increase reliability of the radio link.

I’ll make a ticket for this and try to get to it in the next day or so. Out of office at the moment.
A further reason BLED112 is needed for Ganglion on Mac, is that Brainflow (the new low level library that talks to the hardware), requires it. Brainflow wants to speak to the BLED112 on a serial port. I do not believe that Brainflow will support talking directly to the Bluetooth hardware built into Mac. Yes, previous versions of the Hub could do this. But the heavyweight separate process 'Hub' is disappearing in the upcoming new version of the GUI. A very good thing.
