Embedded Filtering and signal processing (microcontroller)

Dear all,

I'm doing my mastering in Eletrical Engineering and I want to develop embedded EEG filtering in subbands to reduces the power consumption spent in the data transmission, because I want to transmit only the power of each sub-band (alpha, beta, etc...) in time intervals. This will help to reduces the computational power required to do DSP in software applications and open the window to mobile applications using the EEG.

1) What you think about my idea?
2) I searched here in the forum and I didnot find other topics regarding this subject, there is someone working on it?
3) What tips the experienced guys can give me to help my work?
