Hello,
I would like to know how to use "Marker Mode" function in OpenBCI_GUI v4.1.6.
Please give me your advice.

There are some threads and issues here,

    https://www.google.com/search?q=openbci+cyton+marker+mode

Are you sure you want Marker Mode, or are you more looking to record an external trigger signal in one of the three Aux channels?

I'm unclear if the GUI supports Marker Mode. Mentioning Richard @retiutut.

    Tom,

You are correct to ask about this. The feature is not fully integrated in GUI 4.1.6, and I just recently figured out how it was all supposed to work.

    https://github.com/OpenBCI/Documentation/issues/14

    • GUI supposedly "listens" for a marker over UDP from an external application
    • Injects marker into the Cyton board

To test Marker mode, I assigned a keyboard key and pressed it. However, I did see a single dropped packet when I sent a marker message to the Cyton. This probably doesn't affect the data saved to SD card on the Cyton board, but it will show in the GUI.

For now, I can only recommend using External Triggers with an OptoIsolator. https://docs.openbci.com/docs/02Cyton/CytonExternal#optoisolation
