While downloading the software and SDK's I found out that Bluepy is Linux only, which wasn't mentioned clearly and has been raised in Github comments. So I downloaded Ubuntu on Virtual Box. The GUI runs successfully but freezes when I am trying to detect the board.
I found out that my Mac detects the GUI just fine. But I had to use the built-in BLE, not the dongle BLE. Just today I ran some more experiements. But this time, my dongle BLE was detecting the Ganglion board, not built-in BLE. By the way, why did I even download Ubuntu ? Isn't Bluepy Linux-only ?

Are you using the BLED112 dongle? That should work with the Mac.

Are you using the BLED112 dongle? That should work with the Mac version of the GUI.
Hence no need to use VirtualBox and OS emulation or Linux, etc.
