My Cyton Board Stopped Working
My Cyton Board has just stopped working, and I am not sure why or how to fix it. It still worked about 2 hours ago. When I turned the switch to PC, the LED does not light up at all. I have tried different charged batteries (the Lithium Ion Polymer Battery - 3.7v 500mAh), but it still has not worked. The OpenBCI_GUI does not recognize the board so surely the bluetooth does not work anymore. The Cyton board is heated up when I turn it on so I guess some parts of the circuit is burnt.
How may I find out which part is short-circuited (or burnt) so that I can replace it? Or is there anyway I may fix it? I have got it more than a month so I cannot return it anymore.

Thanks, William. I have checked the diode (D9) and 3.3V regulator (U5). The diode seems fine, but the output voltage of the regulator (DVDD) is 0V. However, after replacing the regulator twice, that problem still happens. It is very unlikely that all three regulators are broken. Thus, the problem must be something else. May you suggest how I may fix it (what are other likely problems)? Thanks.

In the Cyton schematic, the Power Supply section is in the upper left hand corner. Check all the voltages there. After U5, there are a few more regulators / inverters. Hmm, with one of the supposedly 'blown' regulators, can you check it externally, say with a 9v battery? If it is producing 3.3v ok, that means some component beyond the U5 is pulling the 3.3v to ground.
Check the regulation components beyond U5: U3, U4, VR1.
"The Cyton board is heated up when I turn it on so I guess some parts of the circuit is burnt." If it still does this, the component getting hot (test carefully with your fingers), is likely "pointing to" the culprit.
