  The 8-bit, 8-channel boards have really old firmware. Years out of date at this point. If you look at the serial port commands it accepts, only the V0, V1 commands are implemented,

  Nevertheless, the base level serial port output is similar enough, that OpenBCI_Python should be able to talk to it,

  OpenBCI_Python is the original repo. A newer repo is here, not sure if it has been tested with the 8-bit board,

  The other consideration with your board/dongle, is that the OpenBCI_GUI no longer supports it. You will have to use a really old version of the GUI to recognize your board, assuming you want to just do some basic operations tests. I doubt that even V2 GUI would work,
