Reduce size of OpenBCI Cyton board using Design Spark
Hi,
My team needs to put the OpenBCI Cyton board into the hockey helmet so we plan to self-make the PCB of it and reduce its size (Ideally 30 x 50 mm). What are the parts of the board that we can get rid of or is there any other way for us to make the board smaller? We do not need the accelerometer or bluetooth, but I wonder if it is alright to remove them. Can we program the board and analyze the data without bluetooth? If we really need the bluetooth, RFD22301 is no longer sold in Digikey. May I buy some from OpenBCI or do you know where I can buy that bluetooth chip?
Also, this is the first time I use Design Spark so quite lost in making the PCB board (placing components on 2 layers, routing,...). Should I make a 4-layer board with 2 middle ones be VDD and AGND? May you suggest any tutorials for me to learn how to do that?
Thanks a lot,
Han
