Cannot locate "DATA LOG FILE"

Hello,

I am using a Cyton with the WiFi Shield and I am not able to locate any of my data recordings.

I am using the OpenBCI GUI on OS X (10.13.6).

This tutorial (IV.6 Optional Settings) states that new recordings can be found within this directory:
/Contents/Java/Data/EEG_Data/

Unfortunately, all that I see in this directory is a single empty TXT file:
SDconverted-2016-12-17_18-28-40.txt

Wondering if there is something here that I am missing.

    So it seems that I am able to save and locate recording data when I use the OpenBCI GUI via Processing but not standalone.

    They are all in `SavedData/` folder on all OS. 

     That part of the tutorial is old and needs to be changed.

    Hi @retiutut,

    On my OS X, there is no SavedData folder in the standalone OpenBCI_GUI (4.0.3) package contents.

    On the other hand, when running OpenBCI Hub (2.0.7) with Processing, I am able to see a SavedData folder and data files show up as expected.

    Applications/SavedData on Mac when installed correctly. I never said it was in the package contents.

    Interesting, not sure why I never noticed that folder before.

    It looks like this is where my "missing" files from the standalone OpenBCI GUI have been all along.

    Maybe it would make more sense if we started doing `Documents/OpenBCI_GUI/SavedData` instead of with the apps in the `Applications` folder. 

    For now, the docs have been updated! Got rid of the old stuff you found, and tried to make it more clear.

    Hah! Found them! The key was all you people telling me, essentially, that there was no button but that the files were automatically saved. Somewhere. On my computer (OS = Windows 10) I found them in C:/users/myname/Documents/OpenBCI_GUI/Recordings/...
    Where the ... is, I had a bunch of directories, and each of these had a bunch of "recordings". Now that I've found them (THANKS FOLKS!) I can load these into the GUI and play them back. It all seems to work. I wish I knew how the GUI decided where to hide these data files! BTW, mine are in ASCII (text) format.

    Try latest beta release for improved playback mode. You can get it from the downloads page. Yes almost all open BCI data is now saved in the documents folder. Cheers!
