@wjcroft I got ADS1298IPAG. On comparing the datasheets the only difference is in the data rate, CMRR and Programmable gains.
ADS1298 - Data Rate - 32kSPS
PGA - 1,2,3,4,6,8 or 12
CMRR - -115dB
ADS1299 - Data Rate - 16kSPS
PGA - 1,2,3,4,6,8,12 or 24
CMRR - -110dB
What changes in the firmware will be made to account for these changes. Thanks, you have been of great support till now. I really appreciate you for the work.
As far as I can see from your list above, you would need to look at the firmware sections that deal with the PGA settings. I believe Cyton defaults to setting the PGA to max, x24. You could simulate this by running at x12 and multiplying all your received samples by 2.
Other sections of the firmware allow the PGA to be set individually per channel. In that case setting to 1,2,3,4,6,8,12, will be compatible. When the gain is set back to the default x24, you would then re-engage the simulation.
There may be other differences.
Is this a big cost savings for you?? I would think that your hours of time spent adapting to another ADS model, would immediately cancel the dollars difference between the two chips.
