Cyton + Daisy : Why the BIAS pin on Cyton is not connected with DAISY's BIAS using Y-Splitter

According to the tutorial http://docs.openbci.com/Tutorials/011-Daisy_Getting_Started_Guide, (i) SRB2 pin of DAISY and CYTON should be connected to the earlobe ref through Y-splitter cable, and (ii) BIAS pin of CYTON should be connected to another earlobe for enhanced noise reduction. 

I'm curious why the CYTON and DAISY BIAS pins need not to be shorted using a Y-splitter cable?

    Bias signal is available on all Bias pins on both Cyton and Daisy. This is because that signal is routed through the header connectors. The SRB2 was not routed / connected through the headers because some users may not have desired that connection.
