On Windows starting LSL stream froze GUI -> [fixed by running GUI in Processing]

On a windows 10 computer I am able to connect to the ganglion and begin seeing data streaming. As soon as I try to get an LSL stream going however, the GUI completely freezes and I'm unable to do anything. Any ideas why? This has occurred on both the June 2018 and August 2018 releases, using both the CSR and BLED112 dongles.

Have you tried running the GUI from Processing, instead of the standalone?

On the Github issues page for the GUI, these issues are open regarding LSL,

I see one related to LSL freeze. But it is Linux. It still may be appropriate to log your issue there, or open a new issue specific to Windows freeze.

Yes I saw that one. I will log my issue there for tracking. Will try running from processing and see how it goes. Thanks.

To anyone else who sees this, if you dowload the latest version of the GUI (August 18) from Github and run the GUI through Processing, the app does not freeze when running LSL.

A reminder to anyone wanting to use the GUI on Windows to output LSL through the Networking widget in the GUI -- YOU MUST run the GUI from Processing IDE. Do not use the Windows standalone GUI, it will hang due to OS code signing signature issues.

Use the latest version of GUI and Hub from the repository,
