Li-ion 18650 batteries

Hi,
Does anyone use 18650 li-ion (not lipo) batteries, 3.7v (fully charged 4.20v). Is it safe to connect two batteries and have voltage 8.2v at peak in such case or single 3.7v battery will be sufficient to run Cyton+Daisy with bluetooth dongle?

    Hi Piotr,

    The single lithium cell is what is recommended. And usually flat pack batteries are much easier to integrate with flat circuit boards. The cylindrical 18650 cell is huge, heavy and much more than you need in terms of milliamp hours. A range of flat cells are shown on this page at Adafruit:

    The 18650 cell is (at least) 2200 mAh. Some show higher up to 3500.

    Current draw of Cyton board alone is about ~50 mA. Thus the 18650 would give about 44 hours. Daisy, since it only has the ADC chip, is less, maybe half of that.
