UDPx3 Not working
I can only get Cyton + WiFiShield to work with TCP/IP. With UDP or UDPx3, session will start but no actual data is received by the GUI or logged. I am using direct connect mode. @pushtheworld

Hi, AJ Keller has left OpenBCI and formed his own company, so @pushtheworld no longer works to contact him. His website is https://neurosity.co/ . In general as warned on the product page, the Wifi Shield can be tricky and difficult in certain modes. See "Important Notes"

Check this Github issue for some suggestions,

Wow, he certainly has! Thanks for the heads up @wjcroft. I read the links you sent. Reliability and avoiding packet loss is one thing, while I don't seem to be getting any data whatsoever out of UDP/UDP3 after initiating a session. Have you seen anyone else with this same issue?
Yes. Have you tried running UDPx3 through your router. And the other router suggestions mentioned on that issue?
I have not, as that advice seemed geared toward a packet loss issue — not UDPx3 / UDP failing to transmit a single packet, as is the issue I'm experiencing.
I'm basically suggesting to try all possible permutations. As you can see, with AJ gone, Wifi Shield users are left to fend for themselves. Are you running the latest firmware on Cyton and Shield?
I understand William. Thanks for the efforts. Yes, latest firmware. So... I it just started w/ UDPx3... why? I have no idea. I guess I just didn't try to start it over and over, which seems to keep yielding different behavior. This thing seems quite non-deterministic! Only problem is that the transmission is very unstable and lagging. i.e. You can see the FFT plot stuttering and going slo-mo. Doesn't appear to be a CPU issue on my laptop either.
What I'd love is just a wired EEG capture to my laptop. All this wireless stuff seems needlessly complicated. In response to that request we were steered away from that and toward the WiFI Shield as the "more reliable" path. But it has been anything but.
Issues are so widespread that I'm wondering if the community should really throw its support behind a wired connection. For may of us, it would work well. Doubly so for those of us who are EMF sensitive.
Any idea how we might revive that initiative @wjcroft?
The documentation on how to do a wired connection with Cyton is here on the forum. You can use the Google Advanced Search box. There are speed limitations, but still may work better for you.
re: stutter / lag on UDPx3.
What is your wireless environment like? Do you have one of the apps that shows the Wifi channels in use in your area? With noisy Wifi, that will impact everything.
