Zm, can you please give a more precise description of the error message(s) you are seeing? Are you using the latest GUI? When did you purchase your headset / Cyton? Is the dongle appearing as a usb serial com port in your Device Manager or /dev folder? What OS and version? Etc.

    Thanks, William

    hi william
i bought my headset this in April 2018 my GUI (June 2018 3.3.2) his day i try start streaming from my head set and there is no signal
both dongle and the board are power on (blue led is lighted) i click on status first time and get success and still no signals appeared in the GUI i power off the board and reconnect it again now i get (failure :system down) message from the GUI and the LEDS are on , i try auto scan and i get the same message (failure :system down) and both RDX and TDX in the dongle are blinking every time i try to auto scan and serial port appeared in the GUI and in the device manager my os is windows 7
i try to work on windows 10 but the GUI not working there

You should be using the latest GUI, April 2018 is really old at this point. Go to the Downloads page.

Also try the latest GUI on your Windows 10 machine as well. I'm assuming your Windows 7 machine is 64 bit.

both computers are 64 bit ..i will try to update the GUI tomorrow and give you the updates

  • hi william
i install the new versions of GUI and the HUB now the failure message is cyton dongle could not connect to the board perhaps they are on different
    what should i do now?

Have you tried Autoscan. Please post further comments on this thread, not the other one.

  • i tried autoscan the same message appeared

  • wjcroftwjcroft Mount Shasta, CA

Do you see the dongle appear as a usb serial port COM device, when you plug in the dongle? Can you please post here the exact error messages you are seeing from the GUI? Have you checked your FTDI driver, is it the latest version?

  • the Com port appeared as com7 and the LED in the biard and dongle lit ..i updated the drivers the same message appeared which is (cyton dongle could not to the board perhaps they are on different)

It's possible the firmware in either dongle or mainboard has glitched. Autoscan does NOTHING?? It sounds like the GUI / Hub is not finding the COM port. You've tried BOTH your computers? And both are running latest GUI?

Did you install from the standalone or are you trying to run via Processing IDE? Why did you separately install the Hub?

    Mentioning Richard @retiutut.

  • i install the gui and hub from stand alone

  • wjcroftwjcroft Mount Shasta, CA

OK... The Hub is INCLUDED in the standalone install, so technically is not an install that you do yourself.

On the other thread similar to this, @retiutut suggests: "Please, cause this error one more time. Then, provide us with a Console Log File (as text file). You can find the Console Log Button in the top right of the GUI. This will help rule out software issues."

  • ok thank you i will try this

  • hi william
i did what you told me
    and this is the message
