What exactly do tracers do in a electrode lead cables?

I was browsing OpenBCI and FRI regarding the purchase of a couple comb electrodes. There I encountered complete packages being sold such as THIS, and it came into my notice that the word "cable with tracers" was used a lot. Might be a small question, but I want to know what exactly these tracers and what is their function in the functioning of the BCI system.

I could not single out something from the illustrations provided in the website and these tracers didn't seem to be included in the cables that were sold separately. So I'd highly appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction.

    Your "sold such as THIS" link did not come through. You may be referring to cable labels such as,


    Labels are attached to each end of the cable to aid in identification. See illustration. In the case of OpenBCI electrode cables, each is a different color.
