Accelerometer and AuxData

hello, I´m new using openbci. I want to incorporate another accelerometer in cyton board. I hace read, that I can modify the firmware, there are 6 bytes for board´s accelerometer and are the same for AuxData. So, I want to know if I can modify that. Or are there another way to implement another accelerometer?
