Is it advisable to power the Shield or Cyton via a USB Powerbank? Or should we ONLY use batteries / LiPo

Thanks

A 5 volt USB power bank can work. Do not charge it at the same time you are using the OpenBCI.

Depending on how the power bank circuit generates the regulated 5 volt output, it may have more noise in the DC level than the zero noise you would see from a plain battery connection.

Thanks @wjcroft for the info. I am assuming that the USB port from a laptop would also have the same issues?

Correct. With the laptop, it would also be advised to unplug from wall power.
