Digital Read Presenting Random Values; Prog Button not influencing D17

I am attempting to set up an external trigger through my cyton board (from psychopy, if it matters). However, when switching on the digital read via the GUI, I am getting seemingly random numbers from D11, 12, 13, 17,18. (D18 hovers around 8000 and seems to be an accelerometer). Pushing the prog button should turn D17 from 0 to 1; however, it presents random numbers. Any tips are appreciated. Please help!

Hi,

I am also experiencing the same issue with my Cyton and the latest firmware. It was working quite stable and then it became this 'random' value sequence which actually is the same the analog read values.

Any thoughts on this?

Do either of you have a sense of whether this is an issue in the GUI, or in the Cyton firmware (Board Mode = Digital)?

One way to test was suggested by Josh, with the mainboard Prog button. Perhaps that would show different results in the raw CSV.

I did not see an issue open for this, but not sure if it should go on the GUI Github or Cyton firmware.

I have tried to look into it. The GUI console log does state that the hub is sending the command 'board mode /DIGITAL' but the raw output file is recording as if the accelerometer data was being recorded (i.e 8 channels columns + 3 accelerometer columns).

The pressing of the PROG button was undetected in the raw file.

Before starting today I re-uploaded the latest firmware tot he openBCI following the tutorial. I am using the latest versions of the OpenBCI GUI and the HUB as well.

I just ran the GUI in Processing. There, the digital read functionallity there works fine and the raw file outputs the digital channels as it is meant to. So, the issue is narrowed down to the stand alone release v4.1.2 (beta) that I downloaded while trying to get my wifishield to work, running on windows 10 Enterprise 64 bit.

Rolling back to release 4.0.4 fixed it. Any ideas on what the issue might be?

Now I need to figure out how to get the wifishield working properly! One step at a time!
