Getting Random Signal Spikes on all Channels

Hi,

I've been having a similar issue as in this thread: 

The random artifacts come every ~10 seconds, and they started appearing since using the UltraCortex. I used Gold Cup electrodes with 10-20 paste before, and it didn't happen. 
I'm making sure to sit still and to keep all my muscles relaxed, but spikes happen independently and with more amplitude. 

Does this have something to do with the firmware, or the battery? I'm using the one from Adafruit, as recommended in the UltraCortex guide. 

I would be really grateful for any help, as I cannot record anything valuable atm.

    This is not a knowledgeable reply, but I had some similar spikes and found they generally disappeared when I moved to a space with less nearby electronics/wiring/lights, and shut off my mobile. :)
