  1. MNE-RT: an open-source real-time neurofeedback/BCI framework

    Payam
    by Payam · July 20
Use cases it’s built for: neurofeedback research, real-time BCI/motor-imagery decoding, and any closed-loop paradigm needing live feature extraction + adaptive feedback + artifact correction in one pl
  2. Making a platform where you can sell your EEG data

I have been working on a system for the collection of EEG data from participants during mental imagery tasks. I am using a Cyton+Daisy system for recording the EEG data. I have been using an LSL to re

As I am into preparing the EEG dataset for Motor Imagery task, accurate, millisecond-level timing is crucial with perfectly regular timebase. While I understand that some of these issues are due to th

The Motor Imagery tutorial in the original post has now been officially deprecated and is no longer supported. This is due to lack of support for solving issues in this tutorial.

My impression is that Jeremy only used the 'artifact' generation (teeth, blinks) as examples. He definitely goes on to train left / right Motor Imagery detection.

I am also adding more electrodes focused around the Motor Strip(since I am trying to do Motor Imagery either way).

I suggest patterning your electrode setup after ideas used in the tutorials or other BCI Motor Imagery papers.

Also to note, if you look at the example links, you can see that they concentrate most electrodes around the motor strip. This is where Motor Imagery classification is detected best.

Normally Motor Imagery BCI is done with using left or right hand movements. This is because the lateralization of the motor centers makes it easier to detect. Your open/close method does not have that

If you want a free working BCI (including tutorials) that is much better than Motor Imagery, see the MindAffect cVEP tutorials on the Community page.

I can't comment on your motor imagery setup. But in general, MI is much less user friendly than other BCI paradigms such as SSVEP or cVEP. These latter systems allow many more choices for the operator

I'll be moving forward with this method, but I'd also like to verify my process for motor imagery ERD. I've attached the MATLAB code for plotting ERD where I calculate time in seconds, notch filter th
