  1. How to Extract Electrode Impedance Values with UNIX Timestamps?

    retiutut
    by retiutut · September 2024
Impedance check is still done using injected current, so it's similar to Cyton check. It's not continuous. I just added the ability to export all of this data to file. Of course, if you left impedance

@retiutut Are you saying that in the Galea GUI we can export impedance values, e.g., to a CSV or some other data structure? Or are you saying that with the Galea GUI we can periodically check impedanc

If you watch the impedance values while it is running, you can see that it updates one channel at a time. So you can gauge how long it takes to step through all channels. It just keeps cycling, so aft

Would you happen to know how long it would take to gather impedance values before we can resume recording EEG data? I'll of course dig into the details of the code: I imagine this can already be infer

Great! Thank you! It looks like I could modify this code to enable the headset to periodically check and store impedance values

There is no continuous-mode steam of impedance values during the data collection. Which board are you using?

I need guidance on extracting impedance values with corresponding UNIX timestamps. What methods or tools should I use to ensure both data points are captured accurately? Any help would be appreciated!

thanks for the clarification. If they work on the official OpenBCI GUI, it means they are ok. Performing impedance check won't kill the TP. You can try switching them from channels 1-2 to channels 3-4

this could be a consequence of running OpenBCI's impedance check on them; did I inadvertently kill them? If this is true, then it's a bigger mystery as to why they're active in OpenBCI GUI but not in

1 to 40 Hz. Additionally, I was wondering how impedance testing is done w/ these active electrodes. I used the impedance testing in the OpenBCI GUI a couple of times before I realized that injecting

The impedance can not really be reliably used with ThinkPulse sensors (since they are active sensors, they can not inject a current into the scalp), but this gives you an idea of the quality of contac

I guess I am not understanding what is going on. With the channel, reference and ground shorted, the time series should show close to zero microvolts and the impedance should also be very low.

So per your advice I put the channel 0 electrode, reference, ground together and checked impedance and it is very high.

The dry electrodes you mention are HIGHLY dependent on the pressure applied to the skin and skin impedance. Have you checked impedance with the GUI widget?

Note that 'lead-off' detection (hardware feature, 'AC-lead-off') in the ADS1299, is essentially the same as the method used to determine per channel impedance values. A small current is injected. Norm
