BioEra v. 4.218 now supports all versions of Ganglion including those with latest firmware 3.0.1.

Hi, I am trying to activate the simulated square signal using the "[" command, but that doesn't seem to work as before? Is this an intended change to the firmware 3.0.1?
-
Yes, that is it! I can't reproduce it any more as before. I will let you know if it happens again. It is interesting that is also happened with 3.0.0, maybe that build needs a refresh as well. Thanks!
-
Sure. Steps are easy: after selecting Ganglion start streaming, then stop and start again:

Yes, I mostly use BioEra, but I can reproduce it with the GUI as well (yes, Windows only, in this case Windows 8.1 and bled112 dongle):

More details I found later today about this issue: It only happens with real data and only when the software disconnected from the device previously. 1. It does not happen with synthetic data ("[" command) 2. It does not happen directly after reb…

Hi, I don't know if this is the right place to report it. I am having problems with firmware 3.0.1 (and bled112). After some time (a minute or more) ganglion disconnects (and stops transmitting), the blue led stays on, and it is not possible to c…

I upgraded to 3.0.1, this is the version in the file name now (and also before). But when I use nRFConnect to find out the firmware version, it shows 3.0.0 ("Software revision string" under "Device information").
-
I will upgrade to 3.0.1. Thanks Philip!

I upgraded successfully to firmware 3.0.0, it was easy to do. And now I do see the invalid behavior, so will be working on this. Thanks!

Hi William, I tried '?' but it doesn't show any info about firmware, only registry. I also tried to read the start string, but didn't find anything there as well. But after I posted this question I did find more about the firmware here: https://doc…

Hi, I received the new Ganglion board. But I don't see a problem with the signal when connecting to BioEra. So the question is: how to check the firmware version? Is it possible with the OpenBCI Gui? Or a command?
-
Yes, the email is current, I received a notification. Thanks William.

William, yes, I spent a long time researching AE after I built my first EEG device (OpenEEG). Looks like Imec's circuit is very similar to my first prototype. I am not an electrical engineer, so I can't comment here on any electrical properties. B…

Yes, I believe that was the same d2xx API, it's been a while since I did this. I will try to find some time and see if BioEra on Android works with OpenBCI dongle. I believe it will without any modification.

William, I have not done any measurement of the data rates over Bluetooth on Android. So I can't tell at this moment. I only worked with biofeedback devices which BioEra supports and those have had no problems with the bandwidth as far as I could o…

BioEra does support some USB (not wireless) ftdi devices which can be connected to Android over OTG. So yes, this would likely also work for OpenBCI, but since OpenBCI can do also Bluetooth, then in my opinion this is a better option. Bluetooth is …

I think there is one more idea (besides compression) which I don't think has been discussed: customizable data packet. Currently the V3 packet is constant (33 bytes), it delivers 8 (or 16) EEG channels at 250 (or 125) SPS. With 115kb serial port li…
