Printing the large Mark IV
I'm deeply dissatisfied with my headware and electrode situation. Right now I'm sticking cup electrodes to my head, which is messy and even my useless 10/20 elastic headgear can't help me get them in the right positions or to stay on. Don't even get me started about the difficulty of putting the electrodes on my dog's head, either.
Soooo, at long last I'm giving into printing a large Mark IV. My goodness this thing is big. I'm glad I didn't buy a desktop printer, which I was on the verge of doing. It would've never fit. Instead I joined a MakerSpace that's giving me access to a $25,000 StratSys printer... and even that didn't seem to be big enough at first. Only after their 3D printing guru played around with it, did he find a way to make it fit.
OK so all of that was just me being chatty. What I wanted to ask is:
is there really no way to print out the $350 in supplies being sold to go along with it?
If not, why not? I have my own electrodes (oh, and incidentally, I want to replace with cup electrodes with dry ones - will that still work with the Mark IV?). What else is there? Those blue cylinder things? Why can't we print those? Let's see... it says the $350 buys you "spikey units", "flat units", screws and an ear piece? I think I have a EEG toy I can steal the earpiece from. What in the world are the spikey and flat units??
Just wondering, cheers.

You asked about making the Mark IV electrodes. It would be possible to make them, since we have provided the source files in the Dev Kit, but they are not designed to be hand assembled. If you are willing to source the non-printed parts (electrodes, springs, fasteners), you can make Mark III style electrodes by following the assembly guide. The Mark IV is a far more mature design than Mark III, so for anyone who would like to use Mark III electrodes (which they perhaps already have) but would like to easily upgrade to the new headset design, the Mark III compatible headset is available on Shapeways here.
