Upload using hardware: "Timeout reading from uart. fail.......fail......."

Hello, all.
I am a beginner and now trying to program the Simblee via mobile phone. Since the software version is not able to do programming OTA, I followed the Hardware Upload Tutorial listed below.

However, when I uploaded the default Ganglion file, it said 
Timeout reading from uart.

fail.......fail.......fail.......
An error occurred while uploading the sketch

Did anyone encounter the same problem? Can someone tell me how to solve this error?

    FYI. I used the Cyton Dongle to interface Ganglion with computer previously.
    Today, I use the FTDI breakout to try. I am wondering if there is no RTS, which pin else can I use for interfacing? CTS or DTR?

    I was a beginner with OpenBCI Ganglion and I want to program
    it with my android phone but the software version doesnot support the OTA
    Programming , I followed programming through Hardware mentioned at the end of
    this

    instructions instructed as mentioned

    And when I Tried to Upload the Default Ganglion Program I
