Need help getting noiseless EEG and ECG signals at the same time.

Does anyone have an idea on how to take accurate EEG and ECG signals from the gangalion board at the same time, ie 2 channels taking EEG signals and 2 taking ECG signals.
Taking signals separately works without too much noise but when both EEG and ECG are taken, a lot of noise is generated.

    Lakshay, hi.

On the Ganglion board, do you have the channel switches in the position for 'differential' measurement, vs 'common reference'? The ECG signals are so much stronger than EEG, that they will overwhelm the EEG channels, if measured with common reference.

Thus you need to use BOTH pins (top and bottom) of each channel as separate pair (plus and minus) for each channel. You could use a Y-cable if both channels share a reference.

    Thank you for replying.

The problem we are facing is that on our ganglion board, the -ve pin for channel 1 came twisted (See attached picture) . So, it is not possible to use both +ve & -ve of all the channels.

Is it possible that we keep SW1, SW2,SW3 in down position (default for EEG) thereby only use +ve pins of channel 1,2,3 and SW4 in up position (for ecg) thereby use +ve & -ve pins of channel 4 ?

Also what will be the best ground electrode placement on hand for ECG ??

You should gently reposition that pin. This is very rare.

Hi Lakshay, ask your technician friends if they have what are called "needle nose pliers". This kind of tool can easily grab and gently bend the pin back to normal position.
