Alpha Wave Detector (no PC!)
Hi All,
Wish I coulda been there at the hackathon with y'all. I did squeeze in a little hacking of my own, though. Used OpenBCI to make a stand-alone (ie, no PC) alpha-wave detector. I made it light up an LED and sound a buzzer. Obviously, it would be cool if it did something more fun, but even the buzzer is surprisingly engaging when it's your own brainwaves that are doing the driving.
If you're interested, you can check it out here:

Stepping away from the PC was important to me for this hack. With a computer, nearly anything seems possible. Without the computer, a working device seems a bit more magical. At least, that's how I feel.
Let's see your EEG hacks!
