Remap GUI Electrodes Without Physical Repositioning?
Hello community!!
I’m currently working on a project where I need to remap the electrode positions from the current configuration to match a standard layout, as shown in the attached image. On the left side of the image, you can see the OpenBCI Standard layout, while on the right side is my current electrode setup.
I’m wondering if there’s a way to remap these electrode channels directly through the OpenBCI software, so I don’t have to physically adjust the electrodes on the cap. Is there a feature or script available in the OpenBCI GUI or any integration with other tools (e.g., Python, MATLAB) that can help achieve this?
I’d appreciate any guidance, tutorials, or references that could point me in the right direction
Thanks for your help!

Hi Yelpo,
I believe you are referring to the GUI Headmap Widget. However you are free in your experiment, to assign ANY 10-20 scalp position to ANY channel. The default headmap does not constrain your channel assignments.

Thanks! Haha, I didn't know I could drag and reposition the nodes' position on the headplot in OpenBCI!
