Mark IV headset electrode broken
Hi, I was messing around with the electrode on the Mark IV headset and the wire someone got removed.

When I try to add back the wire it doesn't stick inside. Is it fine to solder back the wire? Or is there another recommended fix for this?
Thanks!

Hi, those seem to be for the earlier models. This is the for the Mark IV headset
Would the same method of sodering that I see (https://openbci.com/forum/index.php?p=/discussion/2594/broken-ultracortex-electrode-wire-how-to-repair) here work? I am just a little worried since that models the wire wraps around, while in this one it goes into a small hole.
The best practical solution is to email customer support (contact at openbci.com) and request to purchase one or more replacements. It's possible they may sell the cable alone (wire with 'wire-crimp-nut' on one end and female header on other). But more likely it will be the entire electrode assembly.
The link you gave shows the October 2020 comment and photo with a workaround soldering 'trick'. The problem is that soldering to such a steel or brass threaded post may not be as reliable as the crimp nut solution.
Ok, thank you.
