sink at 50 Hz on FFT plot

I have the same problem as shown on attached - basically anytime I do a session, there is nothing showing up on the FFT plot at 50Hz - the waves just disappear there and then come back up a little to the right of 50Hz. What's causing this and how do I fix it?

    This is caused by the 'notch filter' you have installed to remove any mains frequencies interference / artifact. Leave it in, it is highly recommended and useful for all EEG. Mains frequency in US is 60 Hz. Many other countries use 50 Hz.
