My dongle does not appear in the software

Hello, I have had problems because when I plug the dongle into the computer it does not recognize it and

only turns on the blue light, does not turn on the red light and does not appear in the software.

    Have you tried the AUTO-SCAN as the image is suggesting?

    When did you purchase? Has this Cyton EVER worked correctly on this computer or other computers?

  • was purchased in 2020, and yes it did work on both the personal and work computer.

    Have you tried just moving the dongle to another machine, to see if the issue has something to do with your current laptop?

  • yes, in fact yesterday I was trying on another computer but it does not recognize the dongle port, I looked on the internet and it said it was because of the driver, but the driver does not let me download it.

    Can you please try a computer that PREVIOUSLY worked with the Cyton?

  • I did it, but the problem is that it does not recognize the port, so I do not know if it is a problem with the dongle because in several computers does not recognize it.

    OK, if that is the case on more than one other computer, then it looks like the dongle itself may be having issues. Please send an email to customer support, (contact at openbci.com).

    In your screenshot, normally the dongle shows up under "Ports, COM and LPT" or under USB devices. It does NOT show up under 'Firmware'.
