Dongle Availability

Since the dongles are required for the ganglion card yet none are in stock, I'm assuming that a lot of indie DIY EEG manufacturers bought them up for their makes. Any idea how frequently these dongles become available?

    Hi Bwins,

It is still listed in the shop, unclear why no stock is shown. They may reorder?

You can easily purchase online, at many stores,

Additionally, if your computer is relatively recent, it may support the 'native Bluetooth' access method for Ganglion. More details on this page,

    Hey, thanks William,
Yeah, the BLED112 dongle is everywhere. Are there instructions as to how would I sync a random dongle to the particular ganglion that I would buy from OpenBCI? For that matter, since the dongle on the OpenBCI shop is sold independently to the ganglion board, how would I sync it in the same way, for instance, that my keyboard dongle syncs with the keyboard?

Unlike the Cyton and Cyton dongle, the Ganglions do not use assigned 'radio channels', dongle is not paired to a specific mainboard. Tutorial shows how to connect with GUI.

Oh. Like this? The dongle is just a conduit for the signal between the ganglion board and the GUI? "Make sure your computer's Bluetooth feature is turned on. Select LIVE (from Ganglion) from the first drop down. Select Bluetooth (BLED112 Dongle) as the transfer protocol. The GUI will automatically start searching for Ganglion devices. Just re-read the instructions you sent. Got it. Interesting. Thanks!

Remember, if your computer is recent, and has full Bluetooth hardware and drivers built-in, then you may not even need the dongle. Dongle is mainly for older computers that need Bluetooth help.
