Can I record with internet time timestamp instead of local machine time?

in OpenBCI_GUI
Hi,
I am wondering if it is possible to record the data with internet time coming from a server or website instead of using the local machine time as the timestamp?
Many thanks.

Shawn, hi.
re: NTP (Network Time Protocol) synchronization
This is not supported in the GUI directly. But if you want this, most operating systems support ways to do this. And can even hold the local time clock to a very close accuracy with atomic clocks.

re: time stamp accuracy / external trigger
Timestamps are NOT an accurate way to synchronize external events with the EEG data stream. This is because they are assigned as the radio packets reach the GUI process. And there are many factors which can cause variation of this: processor load, usb and serial port buffering, scheduling delays, etc.
The only way to achieve exact sync is using the External Trigger capability.
