when are dry electrodes worn out?
Im thinking I'm going to use dry electrode, and I figured out that those have limited number of use.
So, I just wonder what will happen if I use electrode out of its life.
For example, Does it possibly misinterpret a specific brain wave into wrong wave(let's say it misread a wave in beta range as a wave in gamma range)?

FB, hi.
Some of the dry electrodes wear faster, such as the 5mm combs. The shorter 'spikey' combs have longer life. If you can see the 'grey' coating on the tips or cones, that means the electrode is still fine. These dry electrodes are plastic base, plated with silver, then the silver has a chloride coating. If you see the silver or plastic underneath, then the tips / edges are worn down.
Generally worn electrodes will produce a weaker amplitude signal. But not change the frequency or wave shape. Another way to compare is with an older electrode at a nearby scalp location to a new electrode. Then you can see differences if there are any.
