power switch malfunction

Hi there,
The blue power light on my Cyton board will not turn off when the power switch is in the 'OFF' position. It turns off when I remove the battery but when I plug the battery back in (power switch still in the 'OFF' position), the blue light comes back on.

Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks,
Sam

    Sam, hi.

    It sounds like the power switch is intermittent / failing. I've heard that new manufacturing runs of the Cyton, will be replacing the switch with a more reliable version. It's possible that you could retrofit this newer switch onto your existing board. Email to contact at openbci.com to ask about switch repair / replacement.

    Another option may be to use this combination switch and extension cable, to act as your power switch, leaving the mainboard switch in the 'pc' / on position.

    Hi William,
    Thanks for your help. I have emailed [email protected] and I have also purchased the extension cable.

    The on/off switch on my Ganglion broke off the component it was attached to. Can I return for repair?

    @maxson, hi.

    I merged your similar question into this existing thread. Please read the previous comments. A few users have reported both the Cyton and Ganglion boards, can develop malfunctioning on/off switches. New revised board components will fix this in the future. In the meantime, see above suggestions.
