"handing off" some used OpenBCI parts in Vienna Austria [complete]

I don't want to abuse this message board for selling things, but it would be a shame if these useful parts were thrown away. We experimented with brainwave measurement for a while. Unfortunately we didn't get far. What is left is the hardware shown in the picture. If someone is interested, I would hand over everything at a very reasonable price (what do you offer for it?). Shipping would have to be paid for by the new owner. If you're interested please get in touch.

    Thomas, hi.

Can you mention when you purchased the OpenBCI items? Were they purchased from the OpenBCI Shop here in the US? Some of the items I do not recognize, such as the cable next to the EEG Gel, the other cables terminating in 3.5mm audio plugs, the small blue box in the upper right, etc.

    Regards, William

  • Hi! Difficult to say ;) This was the work of a friend of mine. I was just the tester... He said: These are some ear sensors for mesurment auf heartbeat probably from some stores in austria. The battery and the circuit board on the top left where tinkered together (two-pole cable soldered to the circuit board, which comes from the relatively well-known New York electronics hobbyist) according to the instructions from William J. Croft. I got the battery as the power supply for the circuit board from some specialist dealer in Liechtenstein or Luxembourg, the data is also based on Croft's instructions. I hope this clarifies a little what this is all about. Cheers, Thomas

    Hi, Thomaaas,
    I wrote from Italy.
    Two questions:
    1) is the Cyton the last model? When and whwre was it bought? Can you take a picture of the other side of Cyton?
    2) using the software Openbci (Openbci gui) does the Cyton + Dongle work well?
    Thank you!
    Ettore

  • 1) I can not tell you. I was bought maybe 2016 or 2017? It was bought at he OpenBCI shop here. See picture below.
    2) Yes. If there would be a problem I would return the money. But we never reached a stage to test it fully. It was a time problem and we had absolutly no experience.

  • Oh, I posted the same side again. Here it comes...

Ok. Thank you. For what I understood by the video at the bottom (at step3) I think that it is an old model ( as you remember, 2016 o 2017).
    What is the price?
    Thank you!
    Ettore

  • You suggest a price for the whole pack. What is it worth to you ;) and what seems fair. And you pay for shipping...

Ettore, the Cyton V3 board shown should be compatible with latest Cyton firmware. Though you may need to upgrade the firmware. As you noted on another thread, the missing female header sockets on the Cyton, can be added. The dongle hardware has not changed, but may need new firmware.

I will delete this thread once the transaction is complete. Let me know.

William you are always very gentle!

  • Is it difficult to change firmware? I have practically no experience...? Until now no one interested in this board... I would be glad if someone would like to use it. I would sell it for basically a very nice price... Thanks William...

Thomas and Ettore, it is straightforward to update the Cyton firmware. But depending on how old is your current firmware (both mainboard chipKIT and mainboard RFduino and dongle RFduino) -- it can be more or less complex. I suggest you let the new owner deal with it.

  • No one? Even for a symbolic price + shipping? Strange....

There are some European NeuroTechX groups, you might also mention there.

  • This was helpful. I sold the stuff to Greece ;)
