Does the OpenBCI software run on ARM64 based device?

I m looking for a mobile platform to run the OpenBCI software on it. I m checking the Linux devices from Pine64. They are ARM64 based Linux devices. Some Linux software does not run on ARM based devices, as for instance Matlab or OpenSignals. Does the OpenBCI software run on ARM based devices?

The best solution for ARM is to compile BrainFlow on the device, and communicate directly using one of the BrainFlow bindings.

We work hard to make sure the GUI runs on Mac, Linux, and Windows, and v5 is the most stable version of the software.

  • Thank you for advice. That is good news. That is better than with the Texas Instruments demonstration EEG board, which requires software which runs only on windows. BrainFlow, that s fine. When it works on the Pinephone, then it s great. Also EEGLAB should in theory also run on the Pinephone with Octave:

The more options, the better. To find a mobile solution for EEG data aquisiton is tricky, when you don t want to spend thousands of dollars.

  • BrainFlow is good news. I had also trouble with Bitalino. They say their OpenSignals software does not run on the Linux Pinephone. And the Linux Pinephone is in my view a good news for mobile data aquisiton systems. Are there any other Linux or Windows mini PCs with a good user interface, a support forum, and relatively long battery life?
