fastest way to interact with computers?

mouse movement, keyboard input - I often have the impression that my brain can think way faster than I can input data into the computer. Plover like steno typing machines indicate that 300WPM+ are possible.. Are EEGs (or any other affordable technologies) close to allow thinking  / imaginating tuples of items such as (open, firefox) so that switching from keyboard / mouse to something else makes sense ? Same about finding and positioning a mouse -> there are 1000x1000 pixel to point at , mouse pads and mice are nice, but suck.know

Which limitations do you know about ? I've heard many years ago that 1 to 2 commands per second would be possible, but now things may have advanced? What is your experience / wisdom about this topic?
