We are extremely excited to have crossed the halfway point. Thanks so much to everyone who has donated and helped spread the word! We know we are off to a great start, but we are committed to working as hard a possible to earn the rest of our 100K goal!
Event Update
We had a great showing for the OpenBCI mini-lecture at Culturehub in NYC last night. Roughly 50 artists, researchers, developers, and scientists showed up and had the opportunity see a live demonstration of the OpenBCI technology. At the end of the presentation, Joel and Conor fielded questions from the audience about OpenBCI and it’s place in the world. A video of the entire event will be posted to the story page soon. We will announce when it is up. We are very grateful to Culturehub, Ellen Pearlman & The Volumetric Society, and Internet Society (New York Chapter) for making the event happen!

Hardware Update
We have decided to offer the option of a 32-bit core as an alternative to the Arduino-based 8-bit microcontroller. We are in the process of coordinating what type of hardware this will be, and as soon as we make a decision we will post technical details about the new option and additional rewards to our Kickstarter page. The 32-bit alternative will be a more robust hardware platform, capable of faster data transfer and more onboard signal processing. Stay posted!
Software Update
We pushed a Python version of the OpenBCI Brainwave Visualizer to our Github and it is tested and configured to work with both PC and Mac. In addition, we have been working to port the OpenBCI Brainwave Visualizer to an openFrameworks addon, ofxOpenBCI. The data is successfully coming in and the custom FFT plot is working! A stable version should be added to the Github soon. A special thanks to whiz hacker and creative technologist Grant Kot for his help with waveform analysis.
